World Languages

Languages are taught by two units on the Atlanta campus, the department of World Languages and Cultures (WLC) and the department of Educational Psychology, Special Education, and Communication Disorders (ESC).  Please check PAWS for class offerings for upcoming semesters. For more information on degree programs and minors please visit the website of the department or institute offering the language.

All students have the option of taking a world language course in Area C (Humanities, Fine Arts, and World Languages) of the Core Curriculum, and doing so is recommended in some degree programs. See section 1410 of the Undergraduate Catalog for Core Curriculum requirements. Students seeking a B.A. or B.I.S. degree in the College of Arts and Sciences must complete the second semester of a world language (see section 3030 of the Undergraduate Catalog). There are further language requirements for some majors that can be found in the sections on these majors in the undergraduate catalog.
